Pediatric Personal Care Services

The Pediatric Personal Care Benefit helps Health First Colorado (Colorado's Medicaid Program) members 20 years old and younger with in-home, non-medical support with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, meal preparation, and toileting.

Who qualifies for the Pediatric Personal Care Benefit?

These services are a benefit for Health First Colorado members who meet the following requirements:

  • Are 20 years old or younger
  • Qualify for at least one of the 17 personal care tasks as assessed by the Personal Care Assessment Tool (PCAT), and other supporting clinical documentation.
     

The 17 Personal Care Tasks

  1. Ambulation/Locomotion
  2. Bathing/Showering
  3. Dressing
  4. Meal Preparation
  5. Feeding
  6. Hygiene - Hair Care/Grooming
  7. Hygiene - Nail Care
  8. Hygiene - Shaving
  9. Hygiene- Mouth Care
  10. Hygiene - Skin Care
  11. Mobility - Positioning
  12. Mobility - Transfer
  13. Toileting - Bladder Care
  14. Toileting - Bowel Care
  15. Toileting - Bowel Program
  16. Toileting - Catheter Care
  17. Medication Reminders
