2025 Annual Training

Registration for the 2025 Medicaid School Health Services (SHS) Program Annual Training is now open. There will be three (3) in-person sessions in different areas of the state, as well as a virtual option. Training will be conducted by the Department of Health Care Policy and Financing (HCPF), the Colorado Department of Education (CDE), and Public Consulting Group, Inc. (PCG).

These training sessions are intended for program coordinators and other district staff that support the administration of the SHS program as well as the district's billing agents. District support staff may include employees responsible for financial reporting, random moment time study administration, outreach and enrollment, service documentation, and provider training. Annual training attendance is required for program coordinators, and it is the program coordinators’ responsibility to ensure all SHS program support staff attend annual training.

This year’s annual training will follow a new format.  Instead of organizing training by topic, training will follow the timeline of program tasks that are required throughout the year.  This change is based on feedback from the April 2025 stakeholder meeting.  The new training format will serve as an additional guide so SHS program coordinators know which tasks are required at each point in the fiscal year.  Virtual and recorded training sessions will also be timeline-based.

As a reminder, program attendees may attend any in-person training session, even if it is not the session closest to you.  Please choose the session that works best for your schedule.

In-Person Sessions

In-person training sessions include time to interact with SHS program contacts from other participating districts. These face-to-face interactions help establish connections that can be an invaluable resource when districts implement program requirements. We highly recommend in-person attendance, especially for program coordinators, as it allows for additional networking that can’t be duplicated in virtual training sessions.

All in-person sessions will be held from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with registration beginning at 8:30am. Breakfast and lunch are provided.
