Rural Provider Access and Affordability Stimulus Grant Program

Senate Bill 22-200 created the Rural Provider Access and Affordability Stimulus Grant Program which will award $10 million to qualified rural hospitals. The purpose of the grant payments is to improve health care affordability and access to care in rural Colorado. Grant payments will be allocated into two categories, affordability-related projects and care-related projects.

The Rural Provider Access and Affordability Stimulus Grant Program is administered by the Department of Health Care Policy and Financing with advice and recommendation of the Rural Provider Access and Affordability Stimulus Advisory Committee.

Qualification and Application

Qualified rural hospitals will apply for funding through an application process developed by the Department in consultation with the Advisory Committee.

The submission will include multiple documents: the filled out standardized form, narrative responses on the applicant’s letterhead, supporting documents, and a budget worksheet.
