The Department invites you to attend a stakeholder engagement session regarding a proposed policy update that will expand covered speech therapy services to include habilitative services for adult members with Title XIX Medicaid coverage due to age, disability, and more. There will be time for questions and answers.
This policy change will expand eligible speech therapy services for adults who are automatically covered by Medicaid under Title XIX due to age, disability, and more to include habilitative services, which help people keep, learn, or improve skills and functioning for daily living. Currently, adult members only have access to rehabilitative speech therapy services, which are services that help people regain, maintain, or improve skills and functioning for daily life that have been lost or impaired due to disease, injury, or treatment. With this policy change, adult members will have access to habilitative and rehabilitative services under Title XIX.
