Joint Advocates/Department Communication Meeting

Purpose

The purpose of the Joint Advocates/Department Communication (AdCom) meeting is to ensure ongoing, transparent, and collaborative communication between the Department and advocacy stakeholders in the area of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.

General Meeting Schedule

The Joint AdCom meetings occur quarterly on the 4th Friday of January, April, July and October, 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, until further notice and due to an abundance of caution, the Joint AdCom meetings are held virtually via Google Meet and conference call.

Our Participants:

Attendees of the Advocates' Communications Meeting include professional and volunteer advocates, family members of individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, employees from other state agencies, and other stakeholders. With a focus on addressing the topics of interest of the attendees, we welcome stakeholders with an interest in home and community-based services for persons of all ages with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.

Want to join the Joint Advocates/Department Communication Meeting?

There are no defined criteria for attending the meeting. All members of the public interested in issues related to services and supports for individuals with Intellectual or developmental disabilities and their families, are welcome to attend.

 

Reasonable accommodations will be provided upon request. Please notify John Barry at John.R.Barry@state.co.us or the 504 ADA Coordinator at hcpf504ada@state.co.us at least one week prior to the meeting to make arrangements for persons with disabilities. Auxiliary aids and services for individuals with disabilities and language services for individuals whose first language is not English may be provided upon request.
